Water Colouring Floral Dynamic Impressions

I recently found out that I was Kylie’s pick for the International Blog Highlights that I participated in. So this means that I get to blog hop next month with Kylie and the top ten winners. How exciting! One of the cards from that highlights is my inspiration. I CASEd the incredibly talented Danielle Kassing from the Netherlands. I’m not surprised that her card got the most votes! Here’s my version:

I had so much fun watercoloring this card. You may have seen me already case it in my Facebook live but this card is a different version as I have created it DL sized because I was sending some long samples to some Stampin’ Up!® friends and wanted the card to cover them.

The sentiment on this card is the Statement of My Heart stamp by Stampin’ Up! which is currently available as a FREE gift when you purchase the Gotta Have It All Bundle. I will admit I wasn’t overly excited about the stamp but I got it anyway and now I just love it. I’ve been using it on the back of cards to really show how much I love to made and send the cards.

To create this card I:

1. Ran a piece of Shimmery White card stock (89mm x 200mm) through the Big Shot in the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so that the floral image is on one end of the card stock and so that some of the impression is cut off by the edge.
2. Using an Aqua Painter and some ink from my ink pads I water coloured the images, guided by the impression.
3. The purple is Highland Heather and new colour coming in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue. The new ink pad style prevents from picking up ink onto the inside of the lid, so I just lightly pressed the ink pad onto a plastic sheet and used the ink from there to water colour.
4. Water colour as much of the background as you wish using Balmy Blue, use the same method as for the Highland Heather above.
5. Allow to dry.
6. Mount onto cardstock 94mm x 205mm.
7. Adhere to card base.

For fun, I did the same on the inside of the card, but this time only having  the bottom right corner. I love decorating that corner of the inside of the card. I used Shimmery White cardstock because it’s fantastic to watercolour and more cost effective than Watercolor Paper. Also I love the shimmer it gives.
