Happy Easter Monday everyone! Hope you’ve had a lovely long weekend (here in Australia it’s just about over). I’m Tatiana and tonight I’m participating in World Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop. Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults with autism typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities. One should keep in mind however, that autism is a spectrum disorder and it affects each individual differently and at varying degrees – this is why early diagnosis is so crucial. By learning the signs, a child can begin benefiting from one of the many specialized intervention programs.
For this blog hop I thought I’d share with you two cards that I made for families who have recently moved house. The reason I’ve chosen to share these cards today is because I’ve also recently moved and this was extremely challenging. I cannot imagine what it would be like for families with children on the autism spectrum.
I’ve mentioned this before how the Flying Home Stamp Set really calls to me with the concept of moving home. I had a really good time colouring in the gorgeous designs with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. The Stampin’ Blends have been so popular that production of them couldn’t keep up with demand and as a result Stampin’ Up!® has had to stop sales of them till next month (May 2018)!
To create these cards I stamped the images on Whisper White Thick card stock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then coloured them with the Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut the images out with Paper Snips. I really love the Petal Pair Textured Impressions embossing folders. I couldn’t decide which one to use so I used both!
You can donate now to Autism Services Australia (tax deductible) to help provide vital specialist support to more children, adolescents, and adults on the spectrum and their families.
Thank you so much for joining me on the Blog Hop. The next blog is by the lovely Sue Prather.
