Sponge Brayer Emboss Resist Snowflake

Sponge Brayer Emboss Resist Snowflake

Today’s Sponge Brayer technique is Embossed Resist. This is when you heat emboss a stamped image first and then use the Sponge Brayer. I must say I’m very pleased with how this card has turned out.

To create this card:

Card base: Balmy Blue
Card front: Whister White 100mm x 143.5mm; Balmy Blue 90mm x 133.5mm

  1. Rub the Balmy Blue card front with embossing buddy and then stamp the snowflakes from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set in versa mark. Use the Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I left a spot without snowflakes for a Snowflake Trinket (available from the 1st Nov 18 for customers). (TIP: I recommend stamping a few times and then covering in the embossing powder. Then stamp some more. continue till the area is covered. Then heat set the whole piece at once).
  2. Using Night Of Navy ink and a Sponger Brayer cover the above card front completely. The snowflakes will look dark but once you’ve covered the whole piece in ink use a tissue to remove the ink from the Clear Embossing. The snowflakes will show up as Balmy Blue and the background as Night of Navy.
  3. Stamp the “Season’s Greetings” sentiment from Beautiful Blizzard stamp set on a strip of Balmy Blue cardstock 90mm x 15mm
  4. To assemble:
    1. Adhere the Whisper White card front to the card base.
    2. Adhere the Balmy Blue card front on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    3. Attach sentiment to the front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
    4. Attach the Snowflake Trinket using a glue dot.

By using the Clear Embossing Powder you can get the colour of the cardstock coming through. I just love this! It’s almost like having coloured embossing powder! As always I decorated the envelope to match:
