I’m really excited to be showing you today the set of cards I created using the new Love What You Do Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!® and the new 2018-2020 In Colors. These colours are bright fun and just fabulous. Check out the set of cards I’ve made. Read all the way to the bottom of this post as one luck Facebook follower will be able to win this set of cards.
Now lets talk about each of these colours individually starting with Blueberry Bushel:
This is a vibrant blue that really does make me think of blueberries. Its a great new addition to the colour families. Its more deep and rich compared to Pacific Point.
Call Me Clover:
This is a fantastic green. Again vibrant and fun. Think St Patrick’s Day green. I’m really thrilled about this colour as Emerald Envy is leaving us and though Call Me Clover is a bit darker its a fantastic substitute.
Grapefruit Grove:
Out of this new colour collection this one is the most pastel of them all, though I wouldn’t call the colour on its own a pastel. It really is a delightful colour and I’m looking forward to using it quite a bit. It pairs really well with Rich Razzleberry.
Lovely Lipstick:
What a fantastic name for this colour! Its a mixture of Real Red and Berry Burst. A wonderful pink red colour. Much more rich and diverse compared to the retiring colour Rose Red.
And finally Pineapple Punch:
Think BRIGHT. This is a very blight yellow that will bring sunshine to any card! I’m getting a bit poetic in my description 🙂
I used the Stamparatus tool to create this set of cards. The Stamparatus will be available from 1st June 2018 and it makes making duplicate cards super easy.
- Prepare card bases, I prepared five bases, one in each of the 2018-2020 In Colors.
- Cut Whisper White card stock to 95mm by 138.5mm, I cut five.
- Using the Stamparatus and the water colour wash background stamp from the Love What You Do stamp set align the stamp to be sitting to the bottom left corner of the Whisper White card stock that was cut above.
- I stamped off the water colour wash on every card, I found the ink pads quite juicy because they’re new and I love the variety you get from stamping off first.
- Repeat for all five Whisper White card stocks, once in every colour in the 2018-2020 In Colors.
- Using the second plate of the Stamparatus (on the side not from the top) align the two branch designs from the Love What You Do stamp set to the top left corner and then the second underneath it. I have them both going slightly off the end of the card stock.
- Stamp the branches then lift the Stamparatus plate and move it down two notches, re-ink and stamp again. Repeat one more time to get a row of branches going down the left hand side of the card stock.
- Repeat above step for all colours, remember to clean the stamp between each colour.
- Using the Starburst Punch, cut out a starburst from each of the colours card stock. If you’d like you can also cut an extra one out from a piece of scrap cardstock to use as a template in your Stamparatus.
- Using the template described above, sit it into the Stamparatus and use the magnet to keep it in place. Align the sentiment “It’s a beautiful day” from the Love What You Do stamp set so that it sits nicely in the cut out area. The sentiment just fits. Flip the plate of the Stamparatus and use that for stamping the sentiment. Alternatively as this is a photopolymer stamp set you can simply use the clear quality of the stamps to align the sentiment into the starburst punch out.
- If using the Stamparatus to align the sentiment. Take one of the starburst cut outs, rub over with the embossing buddy and place it inside the template and stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink. Then sprinkle White Stampin’ Embossing powder, remove excess and heat set.
- Repeat above for each of the starburst punch outs.
- Assemble the card by glueing the Whisper White cardstock to the front of your prepared card base and then adhere the starburst sentiment to the top right using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
