I have to admit when I signed up to be a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator I didn’t just at purchasing a Stampin’ Trimmer. I thought to myself that I do not need to purchase another cutting device. I have a great metal ruler, a small box cutter and a cutting matt; also have a scrapbooking trimmer which is in fantastic condition. I was curious about the Simply Scored board, but the price tag on that seems steep just to make a scoring line to fold a card. You can just fold a card yourself right?
My first cards where made with the above mentioned metal ruler and small box cutter. It worked fine but I must admit I didn’t enjoy having to measure and mark twice before cutting. When I compared my internal fold lines to cards that I had made at my up line’s place using cards she prepared with the Stampin’ Trimmer they were looking amateur. I bit the bullet and purchased the Stampin’ Trimmer.
It. Changed. My. Life.
I love this tool! Firstly there was no need to measure and mark twice to get a straight line! I just place my paper and the desired measurement and cut (or score). Perfect cut every time! The second biggest benefit to me was the scoring blade. I had imagined that the scoring blade would, well score the paper in a traditional manner – it would slight cut the paper but not all the way through to make the fold line neat. I was concerned that the slight cut into the paper would weaken the point. (I know, I’m an over thinker). Boy was I wrong! The scoring blade indents the paper at that point making the fold easy, clean and very neat!
This is what the score looks like fresh from the trimmer:
Next two photos are a comparison between the fold using the scoring blade on the Stampin’ Trimmer vs simply folding the card stock. Both where folded and then pressed with the Bone Folder.

Without scoring fold (can you see how its just not as neat?):
