Hello everybody! Happy Monday!
I’ve had a really amazing crafting weekend. It was particularly amazing because I had brand new products to play with. I was really excited to see that the Forever Fern Bundle was available for pre-order. (Pre-order is for Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators and we get to order new products BEFORE they become available to the general public). The samples in the new 2020-2021 Annual catalogue are really pretty but I had seen some cards on Instagram once that made me think that this bundle would be so awesome and just because it’s leaves it doesn’t have to be green. On that note, I’m super excited to share my rainbow leaves creation:

I’m seriously in love with this card. I really LOVED the process I used to create this card and the results. I got three cards out of the process and I’m going to share all three with you this week.
Creating the background
For this card I first created a watercolour background. This was inspired by Artisan team member Emma Goddard. I did add more layers of colour to mine and allowed the colours to mix. I used Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape. I used the Clear Block F as my pallet. Pressing the ink pad onto it and then spritzing the ink with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer. I would add one or two colours to a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper using my Aqua Painter and then set it using my Heat Tool. I continued till all colours where on the paper. Then I started to layer the colours more. Every time I would heat set the process creates the water marks and dried darker edges that you can see below.
I’m really super happy with how it turned out! I also fee like I managed to make one of the new In Colors Misty Moonlight (the blue) when the Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape mixed:
After the above photos I did add some splashes of colour for a tad more texture. Once the background dried. I laid out the Forever Flourishing dies using a bit of washi tape to hold some of the pieces in place. Then ran it through a die cutting machine.
I then took the die pieces that coordinated with stamps and using the Stamparatus stamped the leaves on in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I could have used Stazon ink but it is a bit of a a blacker black and and I didn’t want it to be so strong.
Card Details:
- Card Base: Whisper White Thick
- Card Front: Whisper White 3 x 14.8 cm embossed using theGreenery Embossing Folder
- To assemble:
- Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive down the card about 2.5 cm from the right edge. Arrange the die cut leaves along the Tear & Tape till you are happy and press down.
- Add the Whisper White Card front on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals and aligning the right edge to the right edge of the card.
- Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I didn’t want to waste much of this stunning background so I used a strip of it on the inside of the card. I used the same embossing folder on the envelope flap.
I can’t wait to show you the other cards I created using this single piece of rainbow background! Keep an eye on my blog and social media to see what I share them later this week! Hope you have a great week.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that I’ve inspired you to be creative.
Bye for now!
