Poppy DSP Birthday Card

Poppy DSP Birthday Card

Hello everybody! Welcome to my blog.
Hope that you are all well. Today I’m sharing a card that is similar to the Poppy Thank You card I shared earlier this month. This time I’ve stepped up this card to make it a tad more decorative but still easy and quick!

[All supplies used in this project are shown at the end of this post and are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store. You can purchase them and create this project too! Thank you for your support of my stamping adventure]

Card Details:

  • Card Base: Memories & More Card & Envelope (Large)
  • Card Front: Peaceful Poppies DSP (4” x 6”) and Vellum (3 1/2” x 5 1/2”)
  • Sentiment: Pool Party (4” x 1”)
  • Adhere the DSP to the Memories & More Card.
  • Run the Vellum through a die cutting machine with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. TIP: To prevent the Vellum from “shrinking” during the embossing process, emboss a larger piece and then trim to size.
  • Adhere it to the card front with some Tear & Tape Adhesive. TIP: Place the Tear & Tape Adhesive where the sentiment strip will go to prevent the adhesive showing through.
  • Take the sentiment strip and using a wedge of a Stamping Sponge dap on some Pool Party Ink. This gives a textured look to the card stock similar to that of on the DSP. TIP: Cut your Stamping Sponge into wedges a staple a piece of card stock to it to remember which ink pad colour you have used this wedge with.
  • Stamp the sentiment. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Sending You Thoughts.
  • Adhere sentiment strip to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how the Vellum mutes the DSP behind it, but has lots of interest because it has been embossed. I also love that I was able to mimic the texture of the DSP.

To complete the card I used the same embossing folder on the envelope flap. To do this simply sandwhich the flat of the envelope into the embossing folder.

You can earn the stamp set I used for FREE when you spend $90 from my online store! This is only available during the 2020 Sale-A-Bration period (3rd January to 31st March).
