Hi everyone! Welcome back for another creative inspiration. Today’s card was designed to be a male / teenager card. I find those the most challenging to make because I’m such a girly girl and don’t always get the right look for masculine cards. I also thought this card would work well for a teenager.

My card was inspired by Katrina Duffell’s CASEing of a card in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue:
To create this card:
- Prepare card base in Whisper White Thick cardstock.
- Card front is a piece of Mint Macaron 100mm x 143.5mm cardstock.
- On the card front stamp HB from the Letters For You stamp set on an angle repeatedly in Mint Macaron. If you would like a softer look to this you can stamp off first or use VersaMark ink instead.
- Once stamped cut 20mm off the right hand side of the card front and adhere this strip to the inside right hand side of the card.
- Cut a piece of Subtle Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Mint Macaron with the white and Mint Macaron stripes 25mm x 143.5mm. Adhere this strip to the right hand side of the card front leaving a 2.5mm border around the top, right and bottom.
- Adhere the card front, which should overlap by 5mm over the striped DSP.
- From Whisper White cardstock die cut using a Big Shot a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and three sets of letters H & B from the Large Letter Framelits. Cut another set of the letters from Silver Foil Paper.
- Using Liquid Multipurpose Glue layer the letters so that the Silver ones are on top.
- On a strip of 70mm x 10mm Whisper White card stock stamp “Happy Birthday!” from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set in Mint Macaron.
- Add some Tear & Tape Adhesive to the area where you will adhere the scalloped circle and the HB and add some Silver Metallic Thread before adding the scalloped circle.
- Adhere the HB on top and then the Happy Birthday banner.
The card is pretty simple but perfect to celebrate any male’s birthday.
I love the solid look for the HB with all the layers. It really just gives some great dimension on this card.
I also coordinated the envelope to match. I really love how this looks on the back of the envelope!
Best part of this card is that its so easy to change the colours to get a completely different look. Here’s I’ve created it using new Petal Pink colour and it’s now an elegant female card! Too easy!!
