BackStage Biggest Wish Thank you Friend Card

Hello Everybody!
Welcome to my blog! I really can’t believe that 2021 is almost over! I really want to share this card I made back in September with you all. It was inspired by the Stampin’ Up!® leader’s conference called BackStage that was back in August. This year was my first time participating in this conference. I still can’t believe that I’ve qualified for this amazing opportunity. It was two and a half days of inspiration and connection all from the comfort of my own home (thanks covid!). There were early starts for me to participate (5 am) but I loved it all. Best of all it was wonderful to connect with other leaders – some familiar friends, some friends I got to re-connect with and of course I made some new ones. I wanted to thank them all for sharing BackStage with me and so I created this card. Completely inspired by the BackStage theme:

Card Details:

Card Base: Night Of Navy
Card Front: Night Of Navy (10.5 x 14.85 cm)
Sentiment Label: Poppy Parade

On the card front blend some Night Of Navy Ink around the edge to create a halo effect with the centre lighter. Splatter some Wink Of Stella to create some stars and sparkle. Adhere to the card base.
Die cut various clouds from the Give It A Whirl Dies in Basic White.
On the sentiment label white heat emboss the word “Friend” from Biggest Wish stamp set and “Thank You” from Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. TIP: Start with the “Thank You” heat emboss. Create a mask, cover and then stamp the “Friend” and heat emboss it.
To create the corner stripes:
- Cut strips of Basic White 2mm wide & one 4mm wide, and coloured (Night of Navy, Poppy Parade, Bumblebee, & Bermuda Bay) 9mm wide.
- Take a piece of Night Of Navy cut to 2-3/4″ square and apply Adhesive strip to the top. Remove the release paper and adhere the 4mm wide Basic white diagonally from one corner to the opposite. Make sure this is centred.
- Add a strip of Bermuda Bay either side of the white. Then add 2mm Basic White.
- Continue to build the colours and between each add the 2mm Basic White. I followed the Bermuda Bay with Bumblebee, then Poppy Parade and finishing with Night Of Navy. Note: the corners won’t be covered but don’t worry as we will trim this down.
- Trim off the edges flush with the original piece of Night Of Navy square.
- Cut in half diagonally (cutting the 4mm Basic White in half).
- Then trim one side so that the Night Of Navy strip creates the corner.

Take a piece of Night Of Navy cut to 2-3/4″ square and apply Adhesive strip to the top. Remove the release paper and adhere the 4mm wide Basic white diagonally from one corner to the opposite. Make sure this is centred.

Adhere the corner stripes to the card front.
Add the clouds, cutting some to fit next to the corner stripes.
Add the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I drew on the same stripes onto the envelope flat using Stampin’ Write Markers. For the inside of the card I added more stripes. I had too much fun creating them. It’s a fantastic technique for using up scraps!
