Hello everybody!
Welcome to my blog and another Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! This month the general theme is the market with a focus on Textures. I took the market to be shopping. I haven’t been a particular fan of shopping since COVID even though I’m so blessed to live in a place that hasn’t seen any cases in over 6 months. Before COVID I used to think to myself quite frequently how nice it would be to buy fresh flowers every week. I love flowers. With this in mind and knowing that our blog hop goes live on Remembrance Day I decided to use one of my favourite techniques (faux embossing) to create this poppy card:
[All supplies used in this project are shown at the end of this post and are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store. You can purchase them and create this project too! Thank you for your support of my stamping adventure]
Card Details:
- Card Base: Whisper White Thick
- Sentiment Labels: Real Red and Whisper White
- Add some Adhesive Sheets to the back of Whisper White card stock. Die cut some large and smaller poppies. I die cut both the detailed layer as well as the general shape and the insides. Layer the pieces together.
- Add the die cuts to the card base, allowing them to go over the edge and then trim the edge.
- For the sentiment I decided to use the thank you sentiment from So Sentimental stamp set. I used the Basic Black and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers to colour in the stamp. This way I got the “Thank You” in red and the rest in black.
- Add the Real Red sentiment label to the card (trim off one edge first) and then add some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using Stampin’ Seal+ before adding the Whisper White sentiment label.
- Add some pearls to finish the card.
Now please hop on over to Rochelle’s blog to see what at the market inspires her!
