Hello everybody!
It’s Artisan Showcase time again. This month I was asked to create with the Hey Birthday Chick bundle and the returning with bonus dies Hey Chick bundle. I was really quite excited about these and had actually already purchased them myself. The images in these two stamp sets are so cute and fun! And perfect for colouring in your favourite media. I have to say I love my blends and so I decided to use them. Here are the cards I created:

For these cards I decided to create fun backgrounds using a monochromatic so that the focus remains on the chickens.
Hey Chick Card Details:
- Card Base: Gorgeous Grape
- Card Front: Basic White (10 x 14.3 cm)
- Circles: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Purple Posy, & White Vellum die cut using Stitched Shapes Dies.
- Stamp the chickens on Basic White Thick card stock and using Stampin’ Blends to colour. Die cut with coordinating dies.
- Die cut out the wooden sign from Cinnamon Cider card stock and stamp the sentiment in Soft Suede. To make the wood grain stand out, lightly draw on the embossing using the Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Write Marker. Die cut from Foam Adhesive the sign and remove the top layer of release paper, place the die cut on top.
- To the card front adhere the circles. Place the larger one to the bottom and the smaller more to the top. I also made the darker purple be the bigger circle as visually darker and larger is “heavier” and therefore sits better on the bottom. Trim the edges to the card front piece and then adhere to the card base.
- Add the chickens using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the sign with the Vellum stitched circle behind it.
- To finish add some silver Metallic Pearls
Hey Birthday Chick Details:
- Card Base: Pretty Peacock
- Card Front: Basic White (10 x 14.3 cm and 10 x 4 cm), Pretty Peacock (1 x 14.3 cm), Bermuda Bay (1.5 x 14.3 cm), & Coastal Cabana (2 x 14.3 cm)
- Sentiment Label: Pretty Peacock using the Tasteful Labels Dies
- On the small Basic White card front piece stamp the All Wired Up stamp in Sahara Sand.
- On the Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, & Coastal Cabana strips, stamp some of the patterns in the corresponding ink colour to add some texture to the strips.
- Adhere the Basic White card front to the card base, then add the strips of colours and the All Wired up piece.
- Stamp the chicken in Memento Ink and colour using Stampin’ Blends. Die Cut using the coordinating die.
- Add a piece of Vellum behind the chicken to make it stand out more in front of the coloured strips.
- Die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment from Coastal Cabana and then Foam Adhesive. Remove the top release paper while the die cut is still inside the foam adhesive and add the Coastal Cabana die cut. Add to the card on top of the sentiment label.
- Adhere the chicken using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- To finish add some silver Metallic Pearls.
